SnakeDrafts ("we," "us," or "our") is a social game that lets friends compete in pop‑culture "snake drafts," chat in groups, upload avatars, and share results. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app or related services. By using SnakeDrafts, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate SnakeDrafts, provide support, and maintain a safe and enjoyable experience.
When you create an account, we collect your name or username, email address, and sign‑in credentials from your chosen authentication provider (such as Apple or Google). We also receive limited device identifiers, such as a push‑notification token, so that we can send draft updates or alerts.
Within the app, we collect content you create and share. This includes your draft picks, chat messages, reactions, and any avatars or images you upload to your profile. These avatars are stored securely and used only for display within the app; you may change or remove them at any time.
We also collect limited technical information, including device model, operating system, app version, crash logs, and IP address, to maintain security and improve performance.
We do not collect precise location data, contact lists, health data, financial information, or advertising identifiers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide, operate, and improve SnakeDrafts, including drafts, chat, avatars, notifications, and moderation.
We may send email or in‑app notifications related to drafts, updates, or account issues. Push notifications can be disabled in your device settings.
We may process data to comply with legal obligations or protect the safety of users.
3. Reporting, Blocking, and Moderation
Users may report or block others in group chats. Reported content may be reviewed by moderators to assess violations.
Blocking hides another user's messages from your view but does not remove users from shared groups.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK)
If you are in the EEA or UK, we process data to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests such as security and moderation, and with your consent for optional features.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
We use trusted service providers such as Supabase, PostHog, Expo Services, and Apple/Google authentication.
We may disclose data if required by law or in the event of a business transfer.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and gameplay data while your account is active.
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data except where legally required.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You may manage notifications, avatars, and account deletion in the app or by contacting support.
EEA/UK and California residents have rights under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell personal information.
8. Children's Privacy
SnakeDrafts is intended for users aged 13+ (16+ in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from children below these ages.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards such as encrypted transmission and restricted access controls.
10. International Transfers
SnakeDrafts operates in the United States, and data may be processed there with appropriate safeguards.
11. SnakeDrafts on Reddit
SnakeDrafts also runs as a game inside Reddit, on the Reddit Developer Platform. If you play there you do not create a SnakeDrafts account, and this section, rather than the account-based sections above, describes what we collect.
What we receive from Reddit. When you open the game, Reddit gives us your Reddit username, your Reddit user ID, and the image URL of your Reddit avatar, which we display on the draft you are playing. We do not receive your email address, your password, or any Reddit credentials, and we cannot see your activity elsewhere on Reddit.
What you create in the game. We store the drafts you play and the verdicts you cast: the topic, your picks, which drafter you judged the winner, and any reasoning you type. These are stored alongside your Reddit username, because they are published on Reddit under your name.
Posting on your behalf. When you post a draft or cast a verdict, the game creates a Reddit post or comment as you, and Reddit asks for your permission before it does. If that permission is not granted, the app posts under its own account and names you in the text instead. Anything posted this way is public on Reddit and is also governed by Reddit’s own terms and privacy policy.
AI judging. Drafts are scored by AI judges. To do that we send the draft’s topic and the anonymized lists of picks to third-party AI providers (currently Anthropic and OpenAI), which return a ranking and a short written rationale that is posted as a comment. We do not send your Reddit username or user ID to these providers: the lists are labeled only “Drafter A”, “Drafter B” and so on.
Analytics. We record in-game events, such as a draft started, a pick made or a verdict cast, to understand how the game is used. These events carry your Reddit user ID, the subreddit, and the kind of post you were on. They are stored in our Supabase database and forwarded to PostHog, the analytics provider also used by our mobile app. Reddit separately collects its own telemetry about apps on its platform, under Reddit’s privacy policy rather than ours.
Retention and deletion. Drafts and verdicts are retained while the Reddit posts they belong to exist, since the post is the public record of them. Deleting your Reddit post or comment removes it from Reddit; to have the corresponding SnakeDrafts records deleted, contact us at the address below and tell us your Reddit username.
Age. The Reddit game is available to Reddit users, who must be 13 or older under Reddit’s own terms.
